Autism Assessments for Children and Young People

At Autism Assessment Pathway, we provide high-quality, private autism assessments for children and young people aged 8–25 at our in-person service in Hythe, Folkstone, near Hythe High Street (CT21 5AJ). We can also offer some of the assessment in London if required.

Our focus is on offering compassionate multidisciplinary autism assessments, led by a highly experienced clinical psychologist.  Our qualified, expert clinicians are here to support your family with clarity, professionalism, and confidence every step of the way.

 

We use a gold-standard, multidisciplinary autism assessment approach, informed by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines, ensuring each assessment is thorough, evidence-based, and tailored to your child or young person’s individual needs.

​Our team combines extensive NHS experience, including work with Fostering, Adoption, and Kinship Care, with specialist knowledge of neurodiversity, attachment, and trauma. This ensures every child receives a thorough, nuanced, and evidence-based assessment tailored to their individual needs.

Our Approach and Experience

Autism Assessment Pathway is run by a team of highly specialist qualified expert clinicians with extensive experience across the NHS and social care. We provide person-centred, private autism assessments for children and young people aged 8–25, and their families across Kent and London, including Hythe and the surrounding areas.

We are dedicated to making the autism assessment process clear, supportive, and empowering for every family, while recognising each child or young person’s individuality, strengths, and support needs.

The Step-by-Step
Assessment Journey

Our autism assessments for children and young people are thorough
and based on best practice.
This is what you can expect:

Professional services
Free Initial Phonecall: 
A 15-minute parent consultation to discuss your concerns.
Screening questionnaires and reviewing previous reports.
We will review these ahead of the parent/carer session.
In-depth Parent/Carer meeting:
 A detailed review of development history and medical background.
In-person Assessment of child/young person: 
Use of gold-standard diagnostic tools (ADOS-2), observations, and
interviews with you and your child.
Liaison with other Professionals:
We contact school and other professionals (with your consent)
for a complete, rounded picture.
Team Review:
A multidisciplinary team discussion to review all evidence.
Feedback & Report:
A detailed feedback session to discuss the results of the assessment.
You will receive a detailed written report within two to three weeks,
including recommendations for home and school.
Assessments are typically carried out in-person or as a hybrid model (some sessions may be offered remotely depending on need and suitability.)

Core Autism Assessment Package

  • Free 15-minute consultation - to discuss your concerns and gather background information.

  • School liaison and report review - we contact your child's school (with your consent) and review any relevant documents.

  • Multidisciplinary assessment sessions - you and your child will be seen by experienced professionals who work together to build complete understanding of their needs.

  • Feedback session - you will be invited to a feedback appointment.

  • Comprehensive diagnostic report - a detailed report explaining the findings, diagnosis (if applicable), and recommendations for support at home and school.

Our autism assessment package is £1,900 and includes:

We require a £150 deposit at the time of booking and then the following amount is made in two payments. Please contact us for more details about fees and payment.

Optional Bespoke
Follow-up Consultation

For an additional £150, we offer a bespoke consultation tailored to your child and family. This session lasts one hour and fifteen minutes.

This optional session can provide a therapeutic space to think together about your child's needs and consider the best way forward for your family.
